This “Local Government Agency” refuses to allow its residents to speak during meetings, to table items for discussion, or address a variety of important areas of concern. Singleton Council operates a “waste management facility” that leaks toxic, contaminated water into the Hunter River and refuses to clean it up, it fluoridates the town water (against the residents’ wishes), enables construction of 47+ 5G towers, secretly makes deals with property developers for undisclosed amounts of money, and enables mass surveillance around town in preparation for its ’15-minute neighbourhood’ agenda.
Councils must operate within the framework of laws that promote transparency and public participation. Singleton “clown-cil” does NOT do so. By restricting residents’ ability to engage during meetings, Singleton Council continually violates open meeting laws, breaches transparency codes, and faces potential legal repercussions including fines and civil penalties. It is crucial for local governments to foster an environment of openness and accountability to maintain trust with their constituents. This CLOWN-CIL needs to go!
